How do you store your jewelry?

Q.I have been trying to organize mine. I store in a variety of ways but am looking for new ideas. Here is how I am doing it now: vintage pins I put in flat plastic compartmentalized cases bought at a hardware store then stack on the closet shelf (seldom worn) everyday jewelery in a top dresser drawer that I have placed a shallow plastic tray with compartments in it. You can buy at an office supply store. I can grab things quick and group by color, etc. large neckaces (non delicate) I hang from 3m Command hooks put on an empty wall in my closet (several to a hook) I also can grab these quick as I put outfits together. Seldom worn sets and jewelry I store in boxes in a plastic case with drawers in my closet. I put labels on the boxes to identify it with a brother p touch marker. This is for jewelry I don't wear that often. very valuable jewelry gold, diamonds, etc if seldom worn, I have in some silk boxes or bags and then packed in a tote and safely hidden. (a secret!!) Suggestions?

A.I am kind of on the same boat. Too much jewelry and too little space. I change my jewelry every day so I need a lot of it handy. My method is not perfect by any means but it gets me by until some better solution comes along. Some years ago I go a few metal frame/mesh fabric shoe boxes from Cosmetics Plus when they were going out of business. For my jewelry I use one box which is approximately twice the size of normal shoe box. Inside it I have all my jewelry in smaller jewelry cardbox boxes (the ones you get at the store where you buy the jewelry) I separate mine by color...so each medium sized box has a few pieces of the same color. The bad thing is that since the boxes are not transparents I can't see readily what's inside, however, by now I have memorized what's inside each box. I have more stuff in an armoire drawer, same break down by color in fancier jewelry boxes. This is the stuff I don't use everyday though, or bigger stuff. I think no matter how sturdy your jewelry appears to be it's no good to hang it. All those little tabletop jewelry armoires with side compartments to hang necklaces are a bad idea for any sort of beaded necklaces IMO.
