earring problems with Body Jewelry ?
Q.Ears pierced about age 7 with a needle and thread. Thread tied into a hoop "earring". Real earrings caused problems but I occassionally tried them hoping I would find a pair that didn't cause itching. Age 17. Hadn't worn earrings all of high school - at least. Dear family friend gave me a pair of lovely pearl and diamond earrings to wear to prom. I zipped to the store and got my ears pierced. A couple of days later .I carefully removed the earrings used for piercing, and replaced them with the pearl ones for prom pictures. That night after prom went back to the others. Seems I had them pierced again in college becuase I know I was in college when my sister found the all plastic ones for me -- or maybe the holes just hadn't closed up. At any rate...I'm 37 now and suspect that the holes are good and gone though the dots of scars remain. As for getting other things pierced...well, I can't imagine dealing with that itching in um....places to scratch that are less acceptable in public No, the guns don't hurt but dang they were noisy. A needle was so much quieter
A.Well, cheap department store earrings, and slightly more expensive 24ct plated earrings do give me trouble. But I have never worn anything but the pure surgical steel available in body jewelry, niobium or titanium in my non-ear piercings and I have never had a problem. Except once when I got ripped off on a niobium ring for my nose. That was a problem, but it wasn't actually niobium and when I swapped it out for a decent piece of jewelry all was well. I have never wanted to scratch the one that is in a "less acceptable in public" place. It has never given me a problem from day one.
