Bridal Party Jewelry Gift
Q.I've been lurking in the corners for the past few months, and thought I'd make myself visible with a question. My sister is into jewelry making. She uses beads, semi-precious, stones, crystals, pearls and the like to make earrings, bracelets, and necklaces. It was suggested to her by a cousin that there wasn't much "out there" when it came to bridal jewelry or jewelry as gifts for the bridesmaids, and that this would be a good area for her to specialize in. She does do very nice work, and has a website, but I'm curious to know if the people in this newsgroup are having a similar problem finding reasonably priced jewelry? And also what it is you're looking for? The style? If the jewelry matches the gowns and colors of the wedding party, the ability to get six similar sets (one for each bridesmaid), etc. And also what some of the pet peeves are when it comes to looking for this type of jewelry.
A.Personally, I am not looking for jewelry for my wedding day that would be any different from what I wear normally, so "bridal jewelry" isn't something that would interest me. I haven't decided what jewelry I'll be wearing, but it will be things I already own, unless I'm lucky enough to get a gift of jewelry from him before then. Probably a silver necklace and bracelet that he gave me years ago, both of which are ethnic jewelry. Well. . . had I been advertising I would've given the website address. What I need to know is if there is any type of market for "bridal jewelry". You do seem to think that I really haven't been lurking. . .I've been lurking since spring, bookmarked a lot of interesting sights that other subscribers have referred (I do hope to get married someday), and I have a good idea what most of the NG considers your comments, and at one time had you along with a few others blocked. Although, I will admit, sometimes you do have a point.
