Choker Jewelry Pearl

Q.Does anyone know the current owners of Romanov jewelry? To what extent did the Crown jewels survive? I know that Queen Alexandra purchased some of the Dowager Empress Marie's jewelry, two items of which were often worn by Princess Diana: I believe the tear-drop pearl and diamond tiara she wore with her famous white "Elvis" gown, and the 5-7 stranded pearl choker with gold and diamond bars and the large sapphire clasp that she often wore both belonged to the Dowager Empress. Does anyone know exactly what jewelry the Dowager Empress and the Grand Duchesses Xenia and Olga took with them when they fled Russia, and who owns it now? Are their any books with pictures of Romanov jewelry? Russian royalty certainly liked big pearls. What happened to all of those thousands of marble-sized pearls?

A.Fields' book claims that on Nov 6, 1917, the Soviets seized the jewels that were kept in the bank vault at Moscow's Imperial Bank. This was probably the crown jewels, since we know that Marie escaped with most of her personal jewelry and the Tsarina had a great deal of her personal jewelry with her at the time of her death) In 1927, the cash-strapped Soviet government sold off a lot of the jewelry they seized. Fields claims a lot of this was done through the Christie's auction house. In 1928, the jewels owned by Marie were sold in the UK by Hennell and Sons. Queen Mary of the UK bought the sapphire and pearl choker and the sapphire brooch I previously mentioned. There is a small v-shaped tiara that was also among the purchase (now owned by the Queen Mum and sometimes worn by Pss Margaret).
