Q.I have a question... as for LaCroix how did he get the name? I mean he wasn't christian...Pompeii happened before the birth of Christ (I think)
A.Pompeii was destroyed by Mt. Vesuvius' eruption in A.D. 79...nonetheless, I doubt LC chose his name to honor Christ. There are several theories-- 1. the writers chose the name as a metophor...i.e. Nick's cross to bear. 2. the only one of LC's Roman names we ever hear is 'Lucius,' which evolved into his current name of 'Lucien.' Since Romans tend to have three names, it's possible that LaCroix also is derived from one of his original names...there are/were crosses that had nothing to do with Christ. 3. a personal theory is that LC chose the name to snub the idea of Christ, a sort of ironic metaphor. LC seems to have that type of sense of humour. 4. then again, he was a general...at some point I'm sure he used crucifiction a lot. Could be a job description.
