Diamond Sapphire Pendant
Q.Yesterday I saw a wonderful commercial that had my husband and I roaring with laughter. It was for a lovely gold necklace that comes with a swoosh style pendant, very classy, with a place to put a diamond. For a small additional fee the company will mount any size solitaire diamond from any engagement ring into the spot on the pendant. It's designed to be given to "the woman in your life who tried to warn you about your ex-wife." In the commecial the guy is giving it to his sister. Oh those diamond people! What will they think of next? Clever recycling scheme that and one of the finest ideas I've seen yet for dealing with that ring.
A.I like that commercial! I'm one of the original jewelry recyclers...inherited a diamond/sapphire pendant that I took to a nearby jeweler and had it broken down into a ring and another pendant...for the pendant, they melted down some of my old gold, flattened and hammered it out and set in a dozen itsy sapphires...unique and modern. Just this week, I had my old engagement ring made into a pendant, too. Sure beats having them sitting around in a box....
