Distinctive Fashion JewelryQ.I'm wondering if anyone manufactures a double-action, double-barrel shotgun. I've never heard of such a thing, but I've been thinking that one would make a pretty good self-defense gun. I'm thinking of something along the lines of a "coach" shotgun, with perhaps a Glock-type internal-safety mechanism, or maybe a transfer-bar, like in Rugers. Sound like a good idea? Or are existing coach-guns safe enough to keep loaded? I've never fired one, so I'm just going on what I've read. A.I imagine that the Russian Baikal Bounty Hunter II model coach shotgun (that I think is still being manufactured?) that has the two "cosmetic" outside hammers on it that actually cock the internal hammers for firing would be just as safe as any internal hammered shotgun. I don't know how any shotgun with internal hammers would do in a serious enough drop test though (i.e. - if any of them have transfer bars in them I think doubles go back a little farther then the invention of movies and t.v. westerns and in their own right earned their reputation the old fashion way, with respect. Today it wouldn't be my first pick if I had other choices but in the hands of a skilled shot gunner (what I'm not) that could be a lethal mix and remember two loads of buckshot is a (hit the deck) lot of lead, was then,is now...
