Free Pattern For Jewely Making.Q.One day I was flipping the channels (250 channels and yet still nothing on, but thats another story) and I stopped at this QVC type channel and there was this necklace...It was gorgeous..it was mostly pearls I think..but with silver and other semi precious stones tossed in..very random. I didnt see any pattern to it.. I sat down and tried to replicate it, but I cant get my mind to work that way... I dont know if its Right vs Left brain or what...but I cant seem to do the random thing.....the only random thing I have done is when i put a pinch of all the colors of my seed beads together ( with some cubes, silver plated stars and flowers ) and made an eyeglass chain..and then I made 4 stretch bracelets to match only because I had more mixed beads.. But then again. they are all the same size..so its only half random..if that makes any sense.... Has any one come across this..and gotten over it..? A.Try making small patterns within the larger randomness. For example, maybe pick out 5 kinds total of semiprecious and silver, and create small patterns of 2-6 beads in pleasing combinations. Then insert those small patterns into random spots in your larger string of beads. Another thing to try is to make the space between the little patterns somewhat nonrandom. You might for example decide that the spaces will be one of 4, 7, or 15 beads long - then pick a random small pattern and a random one of those three numbers, string that number of beads and the small pattern, then repeat until you've strung the whole thing. There are various ways to insert enough order to fool the brain into being comfortable with the random element. And I think the pieces produced this way look better than purely random ones - they have an underlying order that makes for harmony in the piece, which the viewer notices even if they don't consciously see it.
