wedding party gifts?
Q.I am looking to hear of the nicest gifts people have given or received for being a member of a wedding party...Im particularly stumped on my best mans gift...any ideas would be welcome
A.I've been in 5 weddings so far and the first four all gave jewelry to wear with the bridesmaid dress. All variations on the basic pearl theme. Not that the gifts weren't nice but to be honest, I was sort of losing my enthusiasm when it came time to open the gift box. Plus I don't have pierced ears and even my family forgets that so I either try to bring converters or have an awkward conversation early on about "...if anyone gets me earrings..." Anyway, brother number two got married last weekend and there was a break in tradition. We received very beautiful baskets from the bride. Each one was different and she had attached gorgeous ribbons to the basket and filled them with bath things (lotions, bubbles, salts, etc.) plus a picture frame and jewelry pouch. The color theme for the ribbons and products actually matched our bathrooms or bedrooms. She did her homework! Both brothers opted for different groomsmen gifts and each got more than one thing. I know my first brother gave some guys cigar stuff but each one got a great pair of expensive dress socks. They were nice and useful if anyone forgot to pack them for the next day. Brother #2 gave out golf related items. They included ball markers with their initials and ones with the logo of their favorite team. Everyone seemed happy with their gifts. I can only imagine how stressful it is to plan a wedding but if at all possible I'd opt for selecting gifts for the individual rather than getting the same thing for everyone - or every category of people. Just my opinion.
