I am in the design phase for a Jewelry Ring Box.Anyone tell me about it?
Q.I am in the design phase for a jewelry box. It will have armoire-like doors that open to reveal the space for hanging necklaces. I would like to use the doors for ring storage. Most commercial boxes have a series of rows of foam rubber covered with cloth (felt, satin etc). It seems that there is also some stiffener in them. I want to use these rows in the doors of my box. Does anyone know of a source? Since the same design is used by so many people I expect that they are a commodity item. I have checked a few jewelry industry suppliers in downtown Chicago. They have the display trays used in stores and cheap plastic ring boxes but not what I'm looking for. Any direction would be appreciated
A.I have seen adds in the Woodworkers Store catalog (I think) that sell a device to actually spray in the felt. You should be able to cut the slots out of foam, and then spray the felt on
