Man Religious Jewelry
Q.Was it only the masons who were asked to remove jewelry, or is every member of the church required to remove all jewelry before entering and pray in the name of the TGAOTU in the church sanctuary by the Pastor?
A.I am sure that you areproud to live in a country that we have the freedom to worship God as we choose. Would I be right. What right does a Pastor have to ask me not to wear my Masonic Pendant, My rings, shirt, belt buckle, jacket, hat or any combination that I choose to wear. Jim, is the Pastor not there to spread the word of God? I would not be part of any Organization , Religious or otherwise that would ask me to not wear my Masonic ring and the like.. That is not a Preacher spreading the word but a Dictator. As a Christian do you think this is what Jesus would have done? I am not looking for a fight here either. I was going to attend a Christian Church down the street from my home.. One of the Deacons (or holder of some position) tld me "I know about you guys. You worship the devil." He knew nothing of Masonry then what he learned from a traveing preacher who gave a sermon..This is not Christianity but ignoracve on the poor guy's part and a loss of getting a sincere person in his flock. Is the welcome your Pastor gave these men or the one I got the proper way to approach this situation? In reading your posts I know you would not have been so cruel and un-Christianlike. Masonry is a fraternity. Gene, one posted a story of a tattered looking fellow who went in to Lodge or Church and sat down on the floor. He was not dressed as nice as the others but he was there to worship. I will ask Bro. Gene or Bro. Jim Dolan to repost the story and also e-mail it to me... it could apply to any situation or group who claim to be sincere and caring. Your Pastor ran off some men who were probably contributing to the Church and showing be example to be good people and good Christians. I would go as far as contactin an attorney if I was denied membership in a Church because I chose to wear my Masonic Rings...When I don't wear my Masonic Jewelry is is bacasue I am going to bed or when I run out of the house in a hurry. I wear them all with pleasure to myself and honor to the fraternity. Outside of God and my family the most important choice I have ever made in my life was to ask to become a Mason. Jim, I believe you wrote that your father was a Mason..If this is personal we can drop it..Was he not the kind of person you could look up to? If he was I must tell you that it is not Religion alone that makes such a man. Masonry takes a good man and makes him a better man. Within many Religious groups one can find inner fighting. In Masonry we learn to discuss things and work it out in Lodge and leave Brothers, stronger in bond then when we started. I have seen some heavy discussion in Lodge and always all is worked out and all leave friends and Brothers. Organized Religion could learn from the way Masons meet and get along. You cannsee this happen even on this board. I recently had some very heavy communications with Brother Steve. I was somewhat upset as was he I am sure. We hashed it out, respected each other and our bond is now stronger. The bond we share is much more important then the issue at hand...Just my thoughts... I hope that you will at least look into what we post as Masons and evaluate what those fellows tell you, compare it to the Bible and give us the same opportuinty..I get a newsletter written by a dedicated Baptist named Gary Leazer. He is also a great man and great Mason.. I would be glad to sen you this newletter at no cost to you along with other information I have that shows there is no conflict with Religion and Masonry....Sorry to have taken so much of your time. Jim, wasn't there a time that Religious men were preaching that Segragation was Biblical? Did you or could you today ever believe that? Not all men who profess to do God's work are correct.
