Pearl And Diamond Necklace
Q.I'm wearing a beautiful gold and pearl tiara (small, not intrusive). My wedding dress is halterneck with a v-neck, ivory lace. Should I stick to pearl necklace and earrings or something dark like garnets?
A.My personal opinion says to wear only a pearl necklace and earrings. My heart tells me you should wear whatever you think looks the best. I just think that pearls are traditionally beautiful. I think you need to just try a few different things and see what looks good to you, but if you have fabric straps that come up around your neck, as I'm imagining, I don't think you'd need a necklace - maybe just some simple, stunning earrings. As an example, my sister had a heavily beaded gown, queen anne type neckline I think with lots of lace and beads at the neck. She had purchased a few neckalces and earings - pearls, another diamond-like thing, all sort of dangly, because she believed that's what one wore for their wedding, but they didn't go with the dress at all. Fortunately the shop salesperson pointed that out (as she woudl not have trusted her sisters' opinions!) and she chose a small simple diamond necklace on a silver-ish chain, close to the neck, not dangling, and small pearl earings. Much much better.
