Bridal jewelry--OK to look for bargains?

Q.Where have people been buying their wedding jewelry? I don't mean rings--we've already ordered ours and splurged on something nice, since they're one of the few things from the wedding day we'll keep, other than each other. I'm thinking about necklaces, earrings, and the like. I rarely wear necklaces other than a somewhat beat-up Celtic cross, my ears aren't pierced (once they were, but they kept getting infected and I decided it wasn't worth it), and I don't have many occasions in my life where elaborate jewelry is called for. Also, our family doesn't exactly have any heirloom pearls or diamonds lying around! All that being said, I'm tempted to get something really cheap and simple for a wedding necklace. A couple weeks ago I was in a mall accessories store looking for hair clips, and I saw some necklaces of faux pearls, rhinestones, and the like that looked fine to me. But I'm no expert. Will people be able to tell cheap accessory-store fake pearls from expensive department store ones?

A.I bought my friends necklace at JcPenney it was on sale for like $18. Noone ever noticed that it wasn't real, at least I don't think it was. In fact her husband gave her a very expensive locket with her father's picture in it(her dad passed away a few years ago and this way he would be with her on her wedding day) she was really undecided what to wear that day. He gave it to her just before the pictures...I went in to check on her cuz I knew she'd be crying..I asked her if she wanted to wear it. she tried it on with the pearls and decided that that wouldn't work. I told her that just because I bought the pearls didn't mean that she had to wear them. she said she liked how the pearls looked with the dress. So she wore the pearls at the wedding, the locket was arranged into her bouquet open so she could see her dad's picture. At the reception she switched necklaces and all wa fine. It doesn't matter how much you spend on your jewelry its wether you like it and if it looks good with you dress.
