WEDDING ADVICE NEEDED .Q.I was hoping someone could help me. My wedding will be in a few months but I"m having the worst time trying to figure out what to do with my hair. Here's the problem..... I have STICK STRAIGHT hair. It's not thin at all, pretty good body too it, but it REFUSES to hold a curl. And when the curls are pinned down, use of any hairspray or mousse on it, makes it look stiff and sooo unnatural. My headpiece is the circular crown looking type ...where the beaded part goes on a couple inches past the forehead up into the hair, and the tulle part is on the back so that the hair has to be fixed into the ring in the center on top of the head. My hair is also long, a little more than halfway down my back, and I really don't want to cut it. Could anyone help? And suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I don't want to have the hairdresser come and take her own creative liberty on my hair on the most important day of my life. A.No suggestions on an exact hairstyle, just one bit of hair advice from me, I was married 4 months ago: Schedule a "practice" hair appointment 1-2 weeks before your wedding. At the appointment, you'll discuss what you want to do with it (don't forget your headpiece AND veil, and a picture of your dress if you have one), and she'll style it. If you love what she does with it, make an appointment with her for your wedding day. Go home and put on your makeup EXACTLY how you plan to wear it on the big day. Then put on your dress and everything, jewelry and all. If you still love it, great! If there are things you aren't fond of, tell her on your wedding day, and she'll change it. Be sure to get a stylist who specifically does WEDDING hair, this can make all the difference in the world. In this case, a person who specializes in wedding hair might be a better choice than your usual stylist. And don't be afraid to tell her if it's too poofy or whatever - that's her job, and it's *your* wedding day - those pictures last forever!
