Bridesmaid's Jewelry .
Q.Not only is this commercial posting a violation of newsgroup policies, it is just CREEPY to me that one would outfit their bridesmaids in identical jewelry. They are not the rockettes. They are your friends. My only "bridesmaid" will be my brother ... whadda you think? A filigree necklace? Lovely drop earrings?
A.Personally, I'd be pretty darn offended if a good friend were to ask me to chop off my hair, get my teeth capped, wear teal blue eye shadow, or go to a tanning salon to be in their wedding. Other than that, most people are perfectly willing to accomodate the bride at her own wedding. If for some reason you feel offended to be asked to wear matching jewelry to your friend's wedding, then maybe you shouldn't be in the party. I don't think jewelry alone makes the wedding party look like Rockettes at all (it's a fun visual though!!) but I'd probably draw the line at identical hair, nails, and makeup. I guess what I'm saying is that the "material" stuff (dress, jewelry, handbags, hair ornament, umbrella, fan, flowers) being identical doesn't bother me, but the "personal" stuff (hair, makeup, nails) would.
